Welcome to Hornet's Playground!

Thanks for stopping by! This is my first real game project and the first time I've ever used Godot, so it's more of an experiment than a game. In the current state, the player controls Hornet (from Hollow Knight) through a forest area to unlock abilities and collect coins. I spent a lot of time on the movement and abilities, so the platforming section needs work. I'm currently working on adding hazards and checkpoints, which should make for a less tedious experience, especially when you miss a jump.

Touch input is not supported but you can play on Mobile with a keyboard or controller.

Chrome for Android has bugs, though, see Known Issues.

Story

As part of Herrah's deal with the Pale King, she had this area of Hallownest set aside for her child to explore before venturing out in the world. In happier times, it would have been a playground for her child but it has been repurposed for training.

Goal

To "win", you must collect the ability upgrades and the 60 coins

Future Plans

  • Updated start screen
  • Intro message when starting the game
  • Hazards and checkpoints
  • More hidden areas to explore
  • Proper UI system to replace ability unlock messages and win state

Combat is unlikely but may be something I decide to take on after the above are completed.

Known Issues

  • Dash is not working on Chrome for Android
  • The background is not displayed on Chrome for Android

Thanks

I love sliksong. also good job on the movement, its very fluid. I love the precision segment near the top, feels like something you would have to do in hollow knight

Thank you so much! I'm hoping to implement some more precision segments when I rework the layout and add hazards and checkpoints.
